I first recognized and wrote in my diary during the Covid response that Israel was a police state, and Israelis were its victims. The recognition brought fear, confusion, and hopelessness. And if it was a police state for me, I was beginning to grasp what it had always been for Palestinians.
Then I watched new rules, regulations, and language roll out. Children learning in “capsules”. Cities sorted by color. Maps with numbers updated every day. Closed skies and a government guide for canceled flights. “Together we will win” on every screen and every billboard.
Fast forward, and the “threat” is different and everything else is the same. Children learning in “capsules”. Cities sorted by color. Maps with numbers updated every day. Closed skies and a government guide for canceled flights. “Together we will win” on every screen and every billboard.

I realized I had been living cycle to cycle, siren to siren, feeding the cycle that fed on me. Dysregulation as my steady state, emergency as a way of being. The same programs, the same language, the same playbook, rolled out again and again under a new name. A whole way of life invented and normalized so an agenda could keep moving. And these are only a few examples. I had to reckon with the fact that my own capacity to notice had been compromised by generations of indoctrination.
Once the veil lifted, I had to accept it was not about this politician or that politician. It was about a deeper system that had hijacked my mind, held me hostage, and was now exposed. I finally realized I was under a spell and being played, and I had to reckon with what that realization meant. The realization was frightening and destabilizing. Playing along was worse.

You’re describing the U.S. - Israel had to get the playbook from someone… just like the German Nazis did. Thank you for this - it shows how similar the “countries” are - land grabbing, homicidal, racial maniacs who are masters of manipulation.
